I skipped

This morning, I didn't go. First time I've actually skipped my gym workout. I've missed before, but usually due to an outside force pushing against me or I was on a mini-vacation. This time, I hit snooze when the alarm went off, then the second time I turned it off, grabbed my phone, texted my workout partner, and canceled.

I didn't get to bed until 2:30 or so last night, and I was *tired*.

I've also got quite a bit of stuff at work - we've got a big release coming out and the pressure's on to start hitting homeruns in 2009. Fair enough. So I wanted to get some sleep and be sharp for work rather than go to the gym. Which, in all honesty is true, but *feels* like an excuse. So... I skipped.

I have a commitment tonight so I can't go to the gym directly after work, but depending on when I'm done I'd like to either get there or get a walk in. Something. Pushups perhaps. Point being, even though I skipped, I want to hold myself accountable. I need to hold myself accountable. And I need to make it up to me.

I am really trying to have a no excuses policy with myself regarding exercise. I must do it. It must be non-negotiable. I envy your commitment. I am trying to get there.

You have to make time for you health man. No other option. without health everything else in your life will degrade also. Get something in tonight exercise wise and let us all know what you did. ;). Your blog buddies are watching.

When you said that my heart skipped a beat. Because the way it works for me is that when I slip once, the next time is just so much easer, until I simply don't go anymore... But of course you're not me and, come to think of it, I'm not that me anymore either!

Have a great workout tomorrow!

If you can text your workout buddie and cancel, you can cancel/reschedule your committment tonight most likely, if so, do it --- you have a more important appointment you should not miss at the gym.

Glad you feel guilty about it, nobody can be perfect about these things, but we all know to many excuses and then we are gaining not losing weight. Guilt keeps us in check.

You can do it Roder and thanks for the words you left on my last post. As huge as the scales moving under 300 for the first time in 8 years is for me, the fact that I did my stuff on that track after all I had already done, makes me think nothing can stop me this time.

I guess we can let you slide once, but hopefully you did get some kind of exercise in!
