Other small changes

My apologies for not getting a post up yesterday - I was rushing when I got home from the gym and between my meetings and my work schedule I was a pretty busy boy yesterday. I have been for a couple weeks now actually. It's good - I'm really enjoying my job and I've gotten into a bit of a groove. Headphones on, uptempo, aggressive music blaring, making it happen.

Today was another new low, though not too exciting of an overall drop. 265.0, which is 0.3 of a pound lower than my previous low, and I've now officially lost 70 pounds in total. Awesome. Heh, I guess it is kind of exciting.

This morning, rather than my usual coffee (400 calorie mocha latte deliciousness) and muffin (another 400), I went with a bottle of soda (220) and a banana (150ish). I tend to load my breakfast with calories and then have a full day to burn them off, going with a sensible lunch and small dinner, but I'm going to see what cutting my breakfast calories in half does. I'll be aware of my moods, my energy levels and my hunger levels today. I guess I'm to the point in my journey where I feel confident enough in myself to experiment a bit more, rather than lock down and say, "this is what I've done, it seems to work okay, I'm not changing." So if it works, great. If it doesn't, okay; we'll make adjustments as necessary.

265.0

Sounds good, and whatever works for you works, although personally I'd try to get my calories from healthy foods instead of Soda and sugar.

That said I'm not a fan of fake sweeteners because it really hasn't been proven to me that they're any better for you than regular sugar.

Anyway, if you cut down on the sweets and soda I'm sure you'll start to see even bigger changes. Once of the secret weapons of loosing a lot of weight is no calories from drinks.

I use morning calories on lattes too. I don't want to know why so many dieters are avoiding caffeine.
I'm wondering how big of a latte you're drinking to get it up to 400 calories though. Have you tried switching to skim? I never thought I could do it, but I did and (after a week) it was not bad at all. I love it.

And yeah, .3 pounds is still movement in the right direction. Good for you!

Roder - 70 pounds is the average size of a 10 year old boy.

That is DEFINITELY something to celebrate.

CONGRATS!

Congrats on losing 70 pounds!

I also tend to load my breakfast a bit with carbs, but with healthy foods. It gives me energy for the day and for my workouts.

Grats on the big "7 0" a loss is a loss man, no matter how big or small.
For me I recently cuy my Calories down for breakfast by only eating one egg as opposed to two with two slices of Turkey bacon, I noticed right away I was still satisfied, after eating, and the extra drop in calories has help boost me a little more in the weight loss dept. Keep up the good work!

My name is Emmett. Wow you lost 70lbs in total so far, incredible, great job!!
I've read somewhere that if you have a breakfast high in protein it will boost your metabolism 42% throughout the day.

Not sure where you get your mocha latte but I love em too... you could go with a middle ground. A starbucks tall nonfat mocha with no whip is under 200 calories and I love them (I hate sugar free stuff, so I get regular). But anyway there's lots of great breakfasts you can make for under 500 cal total, if you're interested lemme know.

Besides that, congrats on the great loss so far and for still looking for new ways to tweak the intake for results!
